About Me
Born in Yorkshire, I am a London based painter and I like to use colours to interpret my reality.
I believe there is no licence to be an artist, and I respect anyone who is creative.
I studied fashion and textile design at the University of the Arts London - London College of Fashion - and obtained a master degree with honours.
I then started my accessory brand under the name of “Yorkshire Pearl”, where I enjoyed experimenting and combining different precious materials like pearls and vintage jewellery with fashion buttons, chains, embroideries, studs, feathers and trims, binding them all together to create the sculptural “Yorkshire Pearl bangle”, a symbol of how much I enjoy mixing old objects to create something different and new.
My interest in fashion, costume and antiques has had a relevant role in the process of finding my creative voice.
When I started painting I realised that that is the best way I have to express myself. When I drop colours on the canvas, that’s when I let my subconscious free to come out and show me the real way I look at things.
My relationship with the canvas is one of interaction; it feels like It has its own story to tell. I become the medium through which this process is accomplished.
It’s an organic process where I let my intuition guide me.
It surprises me at times and often teaches me something new about myself; I always feel enriched by its natural flow.
I like to combine colours in a instinctive way and let the infinite possibilities for new shades to come to life and create a new work.
